Time to Make Mother's Day Cards

Hi PND Fans! Betty here today....Mother's Day is just a couple of weeks away. I am lucky that my 88 year old mom is still with us to celebrate this special day.  It's time to make Mother's Day cards and today I'm sharing one I made with the newly released digital stamp called Emma with Pinwheel from Paper Nest Dolls. I also added some flowers from the Fairy Set to create this simple, but cute A6 size card.

For this card, I used digital images to create the card front along with sun and cloud die cuts. First I imported the Emma with Pinwheel and the flowers from the Fairy Set into my Silhouette Studio software and sized the images for an A6 size top-folding card. I then created the Happy Mother's Day sentiment and placed it where I wanted it. I then printed it and used a retangular die from Gina Marie Designs to cut it. I colored the images using Copic markers.

Copic Markers Used:
Hair: E15, E34, E11, YR20
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: R20, R30
Green (shirt): YG17, GY13, YG11, T3
Purple: V17, V15, V12
Blue: B02, B00, B000
Pink: RV02, RV00, RV000, T1
Green (grass): YG67, YG25, YG23, YG21

Next I die cut the sun using light yellow cardstock and clouds using white cardstock. For the cloud in the middle, I glued two together to add dimension and cut part of the cloud on the right.

I used light blue cardstock and patterned paper from my stash for the mats and adhered the card front, sun, and clouds. To finish the card, I added a few enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs.

Thank you for visiting and have a creative week! ~Betty~

Happy Earth Day

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here! I am sharing my Earth Day Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using the cute digital stamp Ellie With Flower Pot.

My Design Team Card

For those that don’t know what Earth Day is, it is an annual celebration that honours the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earth's natural resources for future generations. Earth Day is celebrated on April 22.

I thought Ellie With Flower Pot was perfect for my Earth Day Card! So, I coloured her with my Copic markers. I used recycled paper including some cardboard that I repurposed. The Green Stack is 70% recycled paper. The piece behind Ellie has such words as Wonderful World, Go Green, Blue Skies, Environment, Earth, Green Trees, etc. Perfect for an Earth Day card! The cardboard was some that I had kicking around the house. I pulled it apart and kept the middle corrugated part that I tore to fit my card. I just loved using all these recycled bits for my Earth Day card!

April new release: Rainy Day Owen

Hi PND Fans! Betty back with a card using a new release! "When life throws you a rainy day, play in the puddles!" Do you know what this means? It means that if you planned for something, but it did not go as planned, then make the best of what you have. You take that rainy day and turn it into something extraordinary. I thought this sentiment was perfect for this April new release stamp by Paper Nest Dolls called Rainy Day Owen.  This stamp comes in digital format and in red rubber (soon).

I made an A6 size card using the digital version of the stamp. This way, I can make the image as large as I want. I first printed the stamp and then colored it using Copic markers. I used the markers to make the rain showers. Colors are listed below.

Copic markers used:
Hair: E99, E97, E55, E53
Skin: R56, E11, E21, E00, E000
Blue clothes & boots: B39, B37, B26, B24, B32
Red Shorts & boat: R59, R37, R35, R24, R32
Duck: V01, Y13, Y11; beak: YR15, YR12, YR21
Raindrops & Water: C3, B23, B12, B01, B00
White sail: T3, T1, T0, Blender

I used patterned paper I had in my stash to make a mat for the card base. I matted the card front with white cardstock. I created the sentiment in MS-Word and printed it with my printer then trimmed it to fit the card. I also matted the sentiment with white cardstock and adhered it to the card. Since this card is made for a male, I did not add any bling. The card was finished.

This is a really cute stamp that could be used for birthdays, get well, friendship, hello, and more! So cute and easy to color! Hope you give it a try. Have a creative week! ~Betty~

Sunny Gnome Garden

 Hello Everyone!

Cat here with todays inspirations.

Here in Wales Spring has begun, we have had some beautiful sunny days which has made every one happy and smiley.

This has influenced my card for today - with a bright sunny sky and the gnomes have venture out into their garden to plant their flowers - which is what I shall be doing later!

I have used the Gnome digital Set which you can purchase here

The images have been printed out on a laser printer and coloured with Promarkers before being fussy cut.

To create this DL card, I created the background on a scalloped Dl piece of card with Tim Holts Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Fossilized amber for the sky and for the grass I used Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint) with some stencils.

I then added the images to the background with Glue and Foam pads.

I created the sentiment ' Welcome to the secret Garden' in word and printed out and die cut into a heart.

Finally I added some white sequins to complete!

I hope you like it!
