Mother’s Day Birdhouse Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here! Mother’s Day is only a few weeks away! So, I am sharing my Mother’s Day Birdhouse Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Avery with Birdhouse Banner

The Details of My Mother’s Day Birdhouse Card

I just love this sweet image with her birdhouse banner! Perfect for a Mother’s Day gift from a little girl! I coloured Avery with my Copic markers in soft purples and pinks to match my Spring Echo Park paper.

For my card, I decided to add a cute die cut birdhouse using the Echo Park papers to match my colouring and Avery’s birdhouse banner. And I couldn’t resist placing a momma bird inside the house by using the Bird Ballet DSP especially since this was a Mother’s Day card!

Next, I added a banner using the different papers that match my colour scheme. This overlayed the stamped Highland Heather sentiment that was die cut with the Scallop Contours Dies. All this was layered onto a larger scalloped Petal Pink piece to complete my focal point.

Finally, for embellishments, I added some Brass Butterflies to match the butterflies on the paper, as well as, added Star Dust Stickles to the hearts on Avery’s outfit.

Happy Mother’s Day Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Happy Mother’s Day Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Lulu with Peony. I decided to make a Mother’s Day card since tomorrow is Mother’s Day, but Lulu would be great for so many other cards like birthday, thinking of you, and more!

The Details of My Card

For my card, I decided to colour the peony a hot pink colour using my RV Copic markers. We have peonies in our garden that are this gorgeous colour and I just love them! I went with purples and greens for Lulu since these colours go so well with the peony colour!

When I looked through my papers, I didn’t have any peonies the particular colour. So, I went online and found some digital papers to match my colouring. This is a great resource for papers that you may wish to find. It’s amazing how many digital papers are available!

The other papers were pulled from my stash to match the purple and green of Lulu’s dress. I already had the Graphic 45 die cut green piece leftover from another project. So, I decided it would work for this card to give Lulu a nice backdrop from the peony paper.

The sentiment was stamped in Berry Burst onto a tag that came from the Artistry Collector’s Edition Vol 2. The doily under the sentient and stamp also came from that Collection. I love it when you get a collection that has all these fun elements that match the papers!

I added a wooden butterfly layered on top of the stamp to add interest. The rhinestones and glossy dots added some sparkle to the card. Clear Wink of Stella was added to her bow and to the peony for shimmer.

Ellie with Flowers Mother's Day Card

Hello PND Fans! Betty here today. I am still working on my stash of Mother's Day cards. I just love making them with digital stamps. This card is made with the adorable Ellie with Flowers stamp from Paper Nest Dolls. If you're not into digital stamps, this also comes in red rubber

I printed the stamp at 3" high and let the width default. I made sure there was enough white space so that I could use an oval die to cut it out to fit an A6-sized card.

I colored the stamp with Copic markers in the following colors:

Skin: E13, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: E95
Hair: E25, E13, E34, E11,YR20, Y00
Purple: V06, V04, V01
Yellow: YR16, YR15, YR12
Green: G17, YG17, YG03
Blue: B18, B91
White: N3, N1, 0

After coloring the stamp, I cut it out using a stitched oval die from Gina Marie Designs then colored the sky using Distress Ink in Faded Jeans. Then I matted it with lavender cardstock that I cut out with a scalloped oval die from Gina Marie Designs.

I used a flower embossing folder from my stash to put behind the lavender cardstock then adhered it onto the A6 card base.

To finish the card, I printed the Happy Mother's Day sentiment on my computer and trimmed it to fit the card and adhered it to the top of the card.

Such a fun, easy, and cute card to make for Mother's Day. I hope you give this one a try!

Have a wonderful and creative day!

Wishing You a Happy Mother's Day Card

Hello PND Fans! It's Betty here on the blog. It's just one month away until Mother's Day, so it's time to start making your cards. My card is using an older Paper Nest Dolls digital stamp called "Make a Wish," which I thought was the perfect stamp for Mother's Day. Of course you can use this adorable stamp for just about any occasion, such as birthday, get well, friendship and more.

I printed the digital stamp 3" tall and let the width default. This is the perfect size for an A2 card. I colored the stamp with Copic markers in the following colors:

Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: E95
Hair: E37, E35, E33, E31
White: N3, N1, 0
Blue: B97, B95, B93, B91
Green: G17, YR17, YG03
Brown: E37, E33
Pink (Heart): RV34, RV02, RV32

I used an Arteza silver metallic gel pen for the sandal buckles.

I created the sentiment using Microsoft Publisher. The dandelion is from Altenew and the hearts are from Simon Says Stamp. The frame die is from Gina Marie Designs.

This is a fast and easy card to make. I hope you give it a try! Thank you for stopping by. Have a creative day!

Happy Mother's Day Card Using Lulu with Peony

Hi PND Fans! It's Betty and I am getting a jump start on getting a few Mother's Day cards done. When I saw this beautiful digital stamp from Paper Nest Dolls called Lulu with Peony, I instantly knew it was going to be made into a Mother's Day card. I added some patterned paper, flowers, and a bow to make this beautiful card.

To make this A6 size card, I first printed the digital stamp 3-3/4" tall and colored it with Copic markers.

Copic markers used:
Skin: E13, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: E93
Hair: E37, E35, E33, E31
Blue: B97, B95, B93, B91
Green: G16, YG09, YG06
Orange: R08, R14, R02

I used my paper trimmer to cut the colored stamp rectangular to the size of 3"W x 4"H. I then matted it with a cobalt blue cardstock, leaving 1/8" border. The background orange paper is an older paper from my stash. I also matted it with the cobalt blue cardstock. Before adhering these strips down, I added a strip of satin ribbon. I cut out two strips of patterned paper at 1-1/2"W x 5-1/4"H from the Summertime paper pack from Echo Park. I staggered them and adhered them to the card. I then adhered the colored stamp.

I added some flowers from I Am Roses to the front of the card. I adhered them to the card with hot glue. Next, I created the Happy Mother's Day sentiment on my computer, printed it, trimmed it, and matted it with the cobalt blue cardstock then adhered it to the card. To finish the card, I added a double loop bow to the card.

Thank you for visiting today and I hope you a wonderful and creative day! ~Betty~

Time to Make Mother's Day Cards

Hi PND Fans! Betty here today....Mother's Day is just a couple of weeks away. I am lucky that my 88 year old mom is still with us to celebrate this special day.  It's time to make Mother's Day cards and today I'm sharing one I made with the newly released digital stamp called Emma with Pinwheel from Paper Nest Dolls. I also added some flowers from the Fairy Set to create this simple, but cute A6 size card.

For this card, I used digital images to create the card front along with sun and cloud die cuts. First I imported the Emma with Pinwheel and the flowers from the Fairy Set into my Silhouette Studio software and sized the images for an A6 size top-folding card. I then created the Happy Mother's Day sentiment and placed it where I wanted it. I then printed it and used a retangular die from Gina Marie Designs to cut it. I colored the images using Copic markers.

Copic Markers Used:
Hair: E15, E34, E11, YR20
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: R20, R30
Green (shirt): YG17, GY13, YG11, T3
Purple: V17, V15, V12
Blue: B02, B00, B000
Pink: RV02, RV00, RV000, T1
Green (grass): YG67, YG25, YG23, YG21

Next I die cut the sun using light yellow cardstock and clouds using white cardstock. For the cloud in the middle, I glued two together to add dimension and cut part of the cloud on the right.

I used light blue cardstock and patterned paper from my stash for the mats and adhered the card front, sun, and clouds. To finish the card, I added a few enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs.

Thank you for visiting and have a creative week! ~Betty~
