My Favorite Song Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here! I am sharing My Favorite Song Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Decade Collection Roller Skating Ellie. The Details of My Favorite Song Card

I had coloured this stamp with my Copic markers a while back…in fact, since I liked her so much, I coloured her twice at the time! Lol! So, I decided to finally get this one onto a card especially since I bought the perfect Walkman dies by My Favorite Things!

For my card, I thought that the Walkman would make a fun shaker. So, I built my Walkman using the dies and even added four layers to the red foam ear pieces to give them some dimension! I used a Window Sheet for where my shaker sequins would go. Once that was built, I added Foam Adhesive Strips between the top and the cassette paper to enclose my sequins. I thought that the cassette paper was a great backing for my Walkman! The skates and disco ball paper behind my focal point was perfect for my theme!

The sentiment was from a retired Stampin’ Up! Stamp Set, but you could easily type this out on your computer and printing it. It was stamped in black ink and die cut out using the Stitched Rectangles.

To add some sparkle to the card, I used Stickles on Ellie’s pompoms on her skates. For the musical notes, I used holographic paper to give them an iridescent look! Very hip for the 80’s. Lol! The final touch was adding Glossy Accents to her Walkman case.

Love You Lots Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here! I am sharing Love You Lots Card using Raining Hearts by Paper Nest Dolls for my Design Team Inspiration Card.

The Details of My Card

My 28th wedding anniversary is coming up and I thought this cutie would be perfect for my hubby’s card from me!

I had fun colouring her with my Copic markers, especially the red! My hubby knows it’s one of my favourite colours. I even coloured her hair to look like mine when we first met. Don’t you love the falling hearts and her bucket filled with love!

The Smitten paper pulled out the red and pinks of my colouring. It has roses and hearts with keys on it. So, I decided to pull out my key embellishments as a nod to my Hubby having the key to my heart. I threaded it through some Real Red Ruffled ribbon to make it look like it was hanging from the card.

The die cut pink heart border added some popped up dimension to one side. All I added was some resin hearts to tie in the red colour scheme.

A pink stitched die cut heart and wooden heart added the perfect backdrop to my white embossed sentiment tying in my red and pink colour scheme!

My Steampunk Anniversary Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here sharing My Steampunk Anniversary Card using Goth Dad and Goth Mom by Paper Nest Dolls for my Design Team Inspiration Card.

I gave this fun card to my Hubby for our wedding anniversary this year. He loves anything steampunk and the Addams Family. So, I decided to add a steampunk vibe to my card with gears, a chain, a monocle, the Word Band, and my monochromatic colour scheme.

My Card Details

For my card, I decided that I wanted to colour the two images in black and white just like in the old TV series, but with a pop of red for the rose. I carried that colour scheme over with my paper choices and embellishments. The My Mind’s Eye paper was so perfect that I decided to make my card 6” x 6” and only cut off 1/8” for the card base. I lightly sponged the Brushed Iron wax to my die cut corner gears to give them added dimension and placed them underneath Goth Dad. To mirror them, I place Cherry Cobbler die cut roses on the opposite corner underneath Goth Mom. A black doily helps set off my focal point of the coloured stamps from the background.

For embellishments, I used a Tim Holtz Monocle and Word Band that mirror the Brushed Iron Wax in colour. I picked up the Ball Bead Chain from my local hardware store. The Cherry Cobbler Ribbon and Red Rhinestone, tie in my pop of red colour.

My Envelope Details

Since I went with a 6” x 6” card, I need to create a custom envelope and my Envelope Punch Board came to the rescue.

I used some Stampin’ Up Designer Series Paper that carried the monochrome theme over from the card. I used a sponge dauber to dab Cherry Cobbler Ink to the roses on the paper to tie in my pops of red. Some black lace fiber blend tied my envelope together with a matching gear tag.

That’s Amore Anniversary Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here sharing my That’s Amore Card for the Design Team of Paper Nest Dolls. This sweet rubber stamp is called Italian Love. I coloured this cute couple to look like my Hubby and me since this card is for my Hubby and our 26th Wedding Anniversary which is today.

This card is my homage to when we first met and started dating in university. The first time I saw him, he was just back from a vacation in Florida. He was so tanned with his hair bleached from the sun. Hence why he is a little more tanned than me in my colouring. Lol! My hubby’s favourite dinner is spaghetti and meatballs. When we were dating, he would take me to Mother’s Pizza Parlour and Spaghetti House with their plastic red and white checked tablecloths for dinner. He would always order his spaghetti with a garlic bread with cheese. We never split it like the couple here, but that would have been so romantic!
