My Aloha Santa Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here! I am sharing My Aloha Santa Card for as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Vacation Santa Set. There are 7 stamps, which include Surfer Santa, Ice-cream Santa, Santa with Reindeer Floatie, Santa & Mrs. Claus, Palm Tree and Flamingo & Gifts, that come in both rubber and digital stamps.

The Details of My Aloha Santa Card

For my card, I thought to create an Aloha card since Hawaii is the perfect place for Santa to take a vacation before his busy time of year! Lol!

Once Santa was coloured with my Copic markers in bright vacation colours, I placed him on a stitched circle cut out from paper that looked like pool water. I thought it would be fun to place the “pool” off-centred on the card and trim a small piece off the one edge.

Don’t you just love the sparkle of the Aloha sticker, and it pulls out the orange that I used in my colouring! Of course, if Santa is in the land of paradise, he needs a sunny day to folic in the pool! Hence the die cut sun behind the Aloha. Lol!

For my card base, I used green DSP for my palm die cut frame and then some orange DSP with flowers behind it to add to my colour scheme. To mirror the palm die cut, I used a paper palm leaf in one corner.

I added some Star Dust Stickles to Santa’s hat trim, white Gelly Roll Pen for the shine on his floatie and Glossy Accents to Rudolph’s nose. Finally, for embellishment, I used a few sprinkles to match the colours of my card.

Happy Mother’s Day Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Happy Mother’s Day Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Lulu with Peony. I decided to make a Mother’s Day card since tomorrow is Mother’s Day, but Lulu would be great for so many other cards like birthday, thinking of you, and more!

The Details of My Card

For my card, I decided to colour the peony a hot pink colour using my RV Copic markers. We have peonies in our garden that are this gorgeous colour and I just love them! I went with purples and greens for Lulu since these colours go so well with the peony colour!

When I looked through my papers, I didn’t have any peonies the particular colour. So, I went online and found some digital papers to match my colouring. This is a great resource for papers that you may wish to find. It’s amazing how many digital papers are available!

The other papers were pulled from my stash to match the purple and green of Lulu’s dress. I already had the Graphic 45 die cut green piece leftover from another project. So, I decided it would work for this card to give Lulu a nice backdrop from the peony paper.

The sentiment was stamped in Berry Burst onto a tag that came from the Artistry Collector’s Edition Vol 2. The doily under the sentient and stamp also came from that Collection. I love it when you get a collection that has all these fun elements that match the papers!

I added a wooden butterfly layered on top of the stamp to add interest. The rhinestones and glossy dots added some sparkle to the card. Clear Wink of Stella was added to her bow and to the peony for shimmer.

My Hoppy Easter Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here! I am sharing My Hoppy Easter Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Bunny Wagon

The Details of My Card

I coloured this cutie with my Copic markers in bright Easter colours to match my Easter paper.

For my card, I decided to create several flags using the different papers in varying sizes at the top left and bottom right. I used my punch to create my flags in the different widths.

The white background already had a texture to it, but I used a ruler and a multi liner to draw lines along the edges to add even more interest.

To highlight my focal point, I added a stitched circle in pink behind the Bunny Wagon.

The sentiment was stamped, and die cut with a stitched banner die which was cut off at the edge to match the other flags.

Star Dust Stickles was added to the heart on her dress. The only other embellishment was a scattering of sequins.

Bunny Kisses and Easter Wishes

Hi PND Fans! It's Betty here today. Easter will be here in two weeks! There's still time to make a quick and cute card to send to your family and friends using this digital stamp from Paper Nest Dolls called Bunny Wagon. Add your own sentiment and you have the perfect Easter card. Change the sentiment and you can use this stamp for birthday, happy spring, thank you and friendship cards.

I colored the stamp using Copic markers then use a couple of Prismacolor pencils to add some fur texture to the bunny ears.

Copic markers & Prismacolor pencils used:
Hair: E59, E57, E55, E50
Skin: R56, E11, E21, E00, E000
Pink: G40, RV52, R81, RV00; Prismacolors: PC928, PC929
Green: G82, G40, YG11
Gray Bunnies: W3, W1, W0, W00
Gray Wagon: T7, T5, T3, T1, T0
Brown Wagon: E35, E33, E31
Ground: C3, C1

After coloring, I trimmed the paper to fit an A2 size card. I added a pink cardstock mat under the card front. I created the sentiment using MS-Word, printed it and trimmed it to size and added the matching pink cardstock mat.

This card is easy to make and great for those last-minute Easter cards to send!
Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week! ~Betty~

Jingle All the Way

Santa Ellie with Gift
Santa Ellie with Gift

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here sharing my Jingle All the Way Card for the Design Team of Paper Nest Dolls. I used the updated Santa Ellie with Gift which is only $1 right now! Make sure you get yours at such a great deal!!

I coloured Ellie with my Copic Markers in Santa red and white colours. Isn’t she just the cutest in her Santa outfit! I knew that I wanted to create a shaker card and use some Christmas foil accents. There have been some awesome shaker cards by the PND Design Team, and I was inspired by them to give it a try! Since the Jingle All the Way die cut had bells, I used mini bells from the dollar store for the shaker part. I had to double up my adhesive strips to give the bells enough room to jingle when you shook the card. To tie in those bells, I die cut some larger bells in the red and green foil and then tied 3 bells with linen thread.

The Sweetest Season Christmas Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here sharing My Sweetest Season Christmas Card for the Design Team of Paper Nest Dolls. I used the cute Elf Avery with Candy Cane! Isn’t she just the sweetest digital stamp! Avery looks ever so pleased with her candy cane!

The Sweetest Season Christmas Card

When I coloured Avery with my Copic Markers, I knew that I wanted to use the Sweetest Border Dies with the die cut candy canes. Perfect for my card and what better use than to have the candy cane paper showing through the die cuts. It took me a couple tries to get the red die cut and the green die cut to match up, but I thought it helped to create a sweet background for Avery. I couldn’t resist using stickles on her hat trim and glossy accents on the berries to give her some sparkle. I loved the sentiment, but it was too long. So, I turned it on its side and added some embellishments from my stash.

A Goth Family Portrait

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here sharing my Goth Family Portrait for the Design Team of Paper Nest Dolls. This card incorporates 4 different digital stamps that include Goth Dad, Goth Mom, Goth Boy and Goth Girl from the October New Release to create my family portrait!

A Goth Family Portrait

When I was little, I loved to watch the Addams Family in B&W on TV. I was so excited when I saw this month’s release! I decided to colour the family in the colours from the Addams Family movies. So, I gave them very pale skin, but with dark clothing using only T Copic Markers to achieve the effect. I love the pop of colour with the rose and the alligator. I thought they would want to have their portrait taken in front of some of their ancestors that are hung on the wall. Being a Halloween card, you have to have spider webs with spiders in the corners. I hope you like my take on my family portrait!

Spooky Double Z-Fold Halloween Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Laurie here sharing my Spooky Double Z-Fold Halloween Card for the Design Team of Paper Nest Dolls. I had so much fun colouring with my Copic Markers these cuties from the Spooky House Set (7 Stamps). This set comes with 7 stamps including 6 characters and a haunted house. I used the digital stamps, but this set also comes in rubber and can be found in the store here

Spooky Z-Fold Halloween Card

I had a ton of fun creating this spooky double z-fold card for our trick-or-treaters who are out roaming around! Do they dare go to the eerily spooky house on the hill??? The pirate and the ghost are headed that way!

Spooky Z-Fold Halloween Card Flat

To create my spooky night sky, I used a technique called the Copic Galaxy Background. For the galaxy stars, I used my Tim Holtz Distress Splatter Brush. I also used a White Gelly Roll Pen and the Colorless Blender, to make my some of my stars appear brighter/closer.

Galaxy Sky

Next I used Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink Pads with a Round Blending Tool to create my glowing moon on a stitched circle die. I used the Splatter Brush again to splatter water onto the moon to give a bit of texture once it was dry.

I love the Spooky House that comes with this set! I had fun colouring it, especially those glowing windows and doorway! In addition to colouring them, I use a paint brush and painted a thin layer of Apple Sour Nuvo Glow Drops. I wanted the details of the broken panes of glass and the spider to still be seen, but when you turn out the lights, the windows and door glow spookily.
